The National Eisteddfod is Wales’ leading festival held annually during the first week of August.
Each year it travels from place to place, alternating between north and south Wales and giving communities across the country a chance to welcome up to 160,000 visitors over an eight-day period.
It is a cultural festival, the natural national stage for music, dance, visual arts, original performances – all types of culture. The festival is at the heart of Welsh culture and the Welsh nation, where the cultural agenda is set for the next year, and where past successes are celebrated.
This year’s Eisteddfod location is a large farm in Meifod, Powys.
